Hi, I am Abir

Welcom to my story..

So, as you might have gathered, my name is Abir. Professionally, I’m a Cloud Technical Consultant with about five years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 Cloud technologies. But my technical abilities aren’t limited to Microsoft 365, though; I also have experience with AWS and Google Cloud.

Before diving deep into cloud technology and security, I ventured into various fields. Every single position I’ve held has shaped me into who I am today. Here’s a summary of those experiences:

Priyo Tech

Priyo Tech, once a part of the famous online portal Priyo.com, was originally a technical blog that started around the early 2010s. I joined them in late 2012 as a technical feature writer and was eventually promoted to Sub-editor before I left in 2016. My initial role involved creating technical articles, tutorials, and reviews of various tech products, especially smartphones. During my time there, I had the opportunity to work with brands like Walton, Symphony, Asus, and WE Mobile (under Aamra Technologies).

Back then, Priyo Tech was a well-known tech portal for Bangladeshi viewers because there weren’t many other tech blogs, and those that existed weren’t quite resonating with readers. I do recall a few tech enthusiasts launching a blog called AndroidKothon around that time, and they were doing remarkably well. For some reason, they didn’t continue like they started, but I had the chance to work with a couple of their co-founders who later joined Priyo Tech.

Working with Priyo Tech was a pretty fun experience for several reasons. As a student, it was my first job, and I’ve always loved technology. They also allowed remote work, which was incredibly helpful for earning money alongside my studies. Since there weren’t many smartphone reviewers at that time, my reviews received a lot of appreciation, and I even remember receiving an Android smartphone from Symphony as a token of their gratitude.

(Self-reflection Note: The URL for Priyo Tech seems to be a marketplace now; I’m not sure what happened to the tech blog section, though the main site is still active.)

Premium Sweets Ltd

Later, I joined Premium Sweets Ltd as a Junior Graphics Designer at their Head Office in Gulshan 2 Circle. My passion for graphic design, which led me to learn tools like Photoshop and Illustrator during my BSc studies, helped me land this role. I wasn’t with them for long, to be honest, but I gained valuable insights into their operations. It was a pleasure and a significant learning curve, especially since Premium Sweets is a renowned franchise in Bangladesh’s dessert industry.

Audacity IT Ltd

After Premium Sweets, I joined Audacity IT Ltd as a creative writer. I’m pretty sure my almost four years of writing experience were the driving force behind this move. To be honest, I was with them for the shortest time compared to my other roles, and my experience with the management wasn’t entirely pleasant. I’m still not sure why they didn’t want me anymore; the reason they provided was so hilarious that I probably could have sued them for such behavior and unusual notice if I were in a “first-world country.” Unfortunately, in Bangladesh, labor laws often lack real impact.

However, I truly loved the team members there. Every single one of them was brilliant and excellent at their roles. Their professionalism, work ethics, and friendly, welcoming nature touched me deeply. I still cherish the fun memories I made with them, even during my brief time there.

(Self-reflection Note: Some HR professionals might suggest skipping experiences like this, believing they do more harm than good. But honestly, I don’t care. I have nothing to hide, and I have the audacity to say I did nothing wrong! After all, having mixed experiences is what life is all about, right?)

Cookants Ltd

Cookants Ltd was a startup where I joined as their creative lead. It was a small team with a brilliant idea. A startup, in my opinion, needs brilliant minds, a positive, problem-solving idea, and an unwavering belief that “no matter what, we won’t fail,” right? From my experience, working with startups can be incredibly beneficial for gaining hands-on experience, as you can closely monitor and learn from every phase they go through – the mistakes, the processes, the learning. It’s like gaining practical business knowledge without a formal course or payment. I learned so much from them, staying for over two years, gaining extensive knowledge about marketing, process management, finance, risk-taking, and almost everything involved in starting a business. They’re still doing pretty awesome today.

Wicresoft Ltd

At one point in my career, I yearned for a new experience and wanted to see what life was like outside Bangladesh. That desire led me to a job at Wicresoft Shanghai. Wicresoft was one of Microsoft’s largest and best vendors, and it was a true pleasure to work there. I gained immense knowledge during my time with them, learning about cloud technologies, security, cyberattacks, customer management, and leadership. I joined Wicresoft as a Technical Support Specialist and was eventually promoted to Senior Technical Engineer and then Team Lead.

During my tenure, I had the privilege of working with clients all over the world and with many companies, including several Fortune 500 organizations. This diversity of experience greatly broadened my knowledge. While I was hoping to learn even more, an unfortunate turn of events occurred this year due to the US-China conflict. The US government mandated that their databases could not be accessed from China, which eventually led Wicresoft to lose its project with Microsoft. It was an incredibly unfortunate end to my time with Wicresoft, but over nearly five years, I can genuinely say I learned limitlessly, forged unforgettable bonds, and gained lifelong memories!

Current Situation!

Currently, I’m engaged with another Microsoft Vendor through Upwork, supporting customers worldwide and pursuing several professional certifications. One of them is PMP, which I hope will further sharpen my skills for future endeavors! Life has certainly driven me down various paths and roles, and I’m eager to see where it takes me next!
